Let’s Talk about Domestic LED Market Scale and Future of LED Lighting Industry

As a strategy emerging industry that is supported by the state to foster and develop, LED lighting is the application of a new generation of lighting technology. It has the characteristics of energy-saving, environmental protection and high-efficiency, especially in today's LED energy industry, which is restricted by traditional energy and environmental pollution. On November 15, 2016, the 13th China International Semiconductor Lighting Forum (SSLCHINA 2016) opened in Beijing. Since the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan", the state has strengthened the promotion of high efficiency lighting products by strengthening macro guidance, improving policy standards, implementing energy saving products to benefit the people's projects, and government procurement of energy saving products. The green transformation of China's lighting industry has achieved remarkable results.


According to estimates, the overall output value of China's semiconductor lighting industry will reach 1 trillion yuan in 2020, in which the market share of LED lighting products can reach 60%. As of 2015, the domestic market share of LED lighting products has risen to over 30%.


Ren Shuben, Director of the Department of Environmental Protection of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" is one of the keys period for the development of China's semiconductor lighting industry. The next step will be to strengthen top-level design, promote the development and industrialization of core technologies and high-end products, and guide LED lighting companies like Lincond to develop internationally. Capacity cooperation will promote qualified lighting companies to actively explore overseas markets and drive domestic LED products and technologies to go out.


Ren Shuben revealed at the meeting that the "13th Five-Year" LED lighting industry development plan has been prepared and is seeking the opinions of relevant departments. The plan clarifies the development goals, main tasks and key projects, and will further optimize and improve the market environment and policy environment of the LED lighting industry, and guide the healthy development of the LED lighting industry.
